Munich is a great city!  

One of the places we really wish we had more time to spend.  It's a cacophony of the sound of street musicians.  The smells of wonderful food and a city that has blended the old with the new.

  Picture this...  it's late afternoon.  We've been traveling all day long and have seen some amazing things.  But it's getting late and we're getting tired.  As we drove down the road alongside the Rhine, I could see out of the corner of my eye that Sonja had just about had enough for one day. "I think I've had enough of this road." Off To Paris

Time to start heading west.  We'll be driving through the French countryside to Paris.  North through Belgium back to Amsterdam where this journey began. French Countryside A drive through the French countryside is really a drive through history.  As we passed through open fields, farm houses and little small towns, we experienced a feeling that we had been there before.  But in reality, we were only seeing images that took us back to old WWII videos and Peter Sellars movies. Paris, France Paris is such a multi-faceted city with so much history, it's difficult to lump it all together under one subheading.  This being our first trip to Paris, we were all wide eyed and gaga at everything we saw and experienced. A Somber Experience

  Dachau, the first Nazi concentration camp, opened in 1933, shortly after Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany. Located in southern Germany, Dachau was initially a camp for political prisoners, but it eventually evolved into a death camp where countless thousands of Jews died from malnutrition, disease and overwork—or were executed. We didn't know what to expect as we pulled into the parking lot at Dachau.  It was a drizzly, dreary day and that added to the atmosphere as we walked toward the camp. Peering in through the entrance gate, your whole body felt the weight of what had transpired within these fences.  Very quiet. Very somber. The walls of the prison barracks were drab and lifeless.  As you walked between the buildings you could feel the tens of thousands of steps that had made their way down these paths.
